How can you make sure that your body is getting the most out of the CBD oil? Not only the CBD quality is crucial - the carrier oil of your CBD product is also important to guarantee optimal absorption. Since CBD is fat-soluble, the carrier oils ensure that the CBD is absorbed quickly.

But be careful: not all carrier oils work equally well. High-quality CBD products rely on high-quality carrier oils - for example MCT oil or hemp seed oil. Such carrier oils offer an optimal ratio of essential fatty acids like linoleic acid and linolenic acid. The body can optimally utilize and absorb both the carrier oil and the CBD.

Tip: The ratio of omega-6 and omega-3 fatty acids (3: 1) in hemp seed oil is optimal for the human body - and can help control cholesterol and triglyceride levels. Just 1-2 tablespoons of hemp oil are enough to meet the daily requirement of essential fatty acids!

Shelf life of CBD oil

A completely sealed CBD oil can usually be kept for about one to two years. Look at the best before date on your CBD product! When you first start using the CBD oil, you should use it up relatively quickly - in most cases it is recommended to use it within three to six months.

Tip: Not sure if your CBD oil is still good? Smell it and take a little taste. The taste may change minimally over time - but if the oil smells or tastes rancid, you should stay away from it.

When it comes to the shelf life of CBD oil, proper storage plays an important role. Store the oil in a cool place protected from light to extend the minimum shelf life - because CBD can oxidize in excessive heat and sunlight. Light, heat (and oxygen) can speed up the process of the CBD product.

Tip: You can keep your CBD oils in the refrigerator. It's cool there and the oil is protected from light. These are optimal conditions so that your CBD oil will last as long as possible!

Different types of CBD oil
Full spectrum CBD oil
Full spectrum CBD oil offers the full therapeutic range of cannabinoids found in the hemp plant. The oil does not only contain CBD - but also CBDA, CBDV, CBG, CBC, CBN, CBL and many more. There are over 100 such cannabinoids in total. A full spectrum CBD oil therefore also contains THC. However, reputable providers ensure that the THC content does not exceed the legal maximum of 0.2%.

CBD isolate oil
CBD isolate oil only contains CBD. In the manufacturing process, the CBD is isolated from the remaining active ingredients and cannabinoids of the hemp plant. The user receives pure CBD oil (with a corresponding carrier oil).

Broad spectrum CBD oil
Broad spectrum CBD oil, like a full spectrum CBD oil, contains all cannabinoids of the hemp plant. In contrast to the full spectrum variant, however, the THC was removed from the oil in the extraction process.
