CBD Oil: Effect, Ingredients and Studies By CBDNOL GmbH

What's up with the hype about CBD oil? In this article we explain how CBD works, why it is so valuable to the human body - and what science says. Have fun while reading!

    How does CBD work?
CBD stimulates the endocannabinoid (ECS) system in the human body. Although not fully explored, this system is considered to be the most vital and comprehensive system for our physical and mental well-being. The ECS controls, for example, our brain functions, our hormone system and the immune tissue. American researchers discovered the endocannabinoid system only in the 90s!
The ECS includes the receptors CB1 and CB2. These receptors are u.a. in the brain, spleen, tonsils and immune cells. When you consume CBD oil, the cannabinoids dock on the receptors and affect the basic functions of the human body - for example, mood, appetite, sleep and pain sensation. Due to its antioxidant properties, CBD can also capture free radicals in the body and prevent oxidative stress. This slows down the aging process of the body.
Important: Unlike THC, CBD is not psychoactive! It is legally available, does not put you in a state of intoxication and is considered a dietary supplement in Germany.
    What's in the CBD oil?
CBD Oil offers many valuable ingredients that support vital body functions:
Cannabinoids are the most important ingredients in CBD oil. As described earlier, you interact with the CB1 and CB2 receptors in the body, affecting the brain and nervous system, for example. In addition to CBD CBD oil also offers the cannabinoids CBC, CBDA, CBG or CBN.
Gamma-linolenic acid has anti-inflammatory, blood pressure regulating and wound healing. Especially for people with skin diseases such as atopic dermatitis or psoriasis, gamma-linolenic acid is important.
    Omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids
The human body not only needs the fatty acids to regenerate and renew cells. Omega fatty acids also play an important role in cell membranes and the cardiovascular system. CBD Oil offers Omega-3 and Omega-6 fatty acids in optimal proportions!
    Minerals and trace elements
Whether calcium, potassium, sodium, manganese or copper: CBD oil contains many important minerals and trace elements. CBD oil also offers zinc, phosphorus, iron and magnesium.
Vitamins are also found in CBD oil. For example, vitamin E, which has antioxidant properties, supports the body's own cells and can prevent diseases such as Alzheimer's. Or vitamin B1, which affects serotonin levels and can help with depression.
    Carotenoids and chlorophyll
Chlorophyll influences the cell respiration and purification of the body's own cells and influences the immune system. Carotenoids slow down skin aging and strengthen the cell membranes. In addition, carotenoids can affect the cardiovascular system and cholesterol levels and prevent arteriosclerosis.
    What does science say?
Although research on CBD is still in its infancy, there are already many studies on the mode of action of CBD. We have the most interesting studies at a glance:
    CBD and cancer
According to various studies, CBD can fight tumor cells. An English study published in 2018, for example, examined 110 cancer patients (breast cancer and glioblastoma) who used CBD as a treatment aid: in 92% of patients, CBD improved their health! Other studies have shown beneficial effects of CBD on the following cancers: blood cancer, lung cancer, liver cancer, oral cancer, prostate cancer and pancreatic cancer.
    CBD and Alzheimer's
The cannabinoids in CBD oil have neuroprotective properties. For example, one study found that CBD can prevent a neurodegenerative process - a process that plays a key role in diseases such as Alzheimer's or dementia. CBD also slows down the memory degeneration, according to an Israeli laboratory study with mice.
    CBD and epilepsy
Doctors in Israel treated 74 children and adolescents with CBD who had epilepsy. While conventional treatment did not help, CBD improved the health of the children and adolescents studied within 6 months. 89% of children suffered from fewer seizures after treatment with CBD. In 13 children, the seizures even reduced by 75 and 100 percent! Here is more information on CBD and epliepsia study.
    CBD and multiple sclerosis
A 2013 study showed that CBD can relieve physical pain, fatigue and spasticity - all common symptoms of MS.
    CBD and depression
A CBD study with rats found that CBD can increase motivation and cause the so-called "prohedonic effect". This effect plays an important role in fighting depression. Another study with mice showed that CBD has a similar mode of action as antidepressants - only without the dangerous side effects and without the threat of addiction.
By the way: this is just a small compilation. Other studies included the effects of CBD on Parkinson's, anxiety, psychotic symptoms, schizophrenia, nervousness and lack of empathy, eating disorders, sleep problems, nicotine cravings, diabetes, and more. In almost all studies, CBD positively affected the symptoms, ailments or diseases.
CBD oil offers you many advantages. Due to its valuable ingredients, CBD has many benefits and can improve your quality of life in a variety of ways. You do not need to be afraid of side effects - if you have a chronic illness, you should discuss it with your doctor first. Even pregnant women should refrain from CBD!
